For over 20 years, I have been fighting off my wife's attempts to get rid of my big floor standing Snell E III speakers. I just did not believe that some little bookshelf box could match my beloved old-school stereo. That was until I read about these wireless DALI speakers. Growing up in Denmark, I know that DALI as a well-respected HiFi brand, and with all of the positive reviews, I decided to go ahead with it.I bought the Sound Hub Compact and a Sub C-8 D with my Oberon 1 C speakers. And I must say that I am very impressed with the sound. Actually, it sounds a lot better than my old speakers! Very transparent and dynamic. Listening is a pleasure, both for classical music like a symphony, for pop/rock/blues, and for a good action movie as well. In addition, they look great and discreet in the bookshelves. The sub sits in a corner and does its thing very well.My house has an open floor plan, so I would not say that it is a small room we have, but I do not feel that these speakers have any problem filling the space. The sub-woofer is probably helpful here, as well as the fact that we do not crank the volume up to very high levels, only about what I consider a natural level for a symphony orchestra in a concert hall on row 15.I did have some challenge getting a good wireless connection, however. Fiber enters my house in the TV niche, thus dictating that the WiFi router also has to be placed there. First of all, I had to manually select the radio channel as described in the manual. Next, I moved the hub from a shelf in the TV niche right next to the WiFi to a small shelf I built right below the TV in the middle between the speakers. I also dialed the WiFi signal down to 40%. In the end, I got a solid signal, but it took some work getting there.I ripped all of my CD collection to FLAC files stored on a NAS drive, and I use the Media Player App on my LG WebOS TV for playback. The sound hub is connected to the TV with eARC. It works quite well, although the app can be slow at times, but it is very nice that everything is controlled from the TV remote, and that I get full CD sound quality without cutting any corners. I also sometimes use Air Play or Bluetooth from my iPhone. Jesper Frickmann on Oct 19th 2022
Striking sound that can both soar and soothe is at the heart of the DALI OPTICON range alongside purity of image at any volume, rich detail and a sweeping soundstage - as always; designed in admiration of music. All models feature DALI's own unerringly accurate woofer and tweeter modules, plus our proprietary SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound) pole piece. 153554b96e
