Nice article. I like the porting of your guide with the E3531. I am trying to run this on the usbmodes of the pocketmfio. My modem is an E225. I built the firmware for the mfio and flashed it onto the modem and tested everything successfully. Then I followed your guide and installed all the drivers and had it work on the RPi. I was able to make calls and send sms. Then I switched to a different usb modem (thanks to you) and now when I reboot it I get an error this article so much needed. I found this thread which is great I will use this to get my modem working and I can carry on with this project. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=255581&p=1709473#p1709473
I am having trouble connecting my Huawei E3531 modem to my MacBook Pro running macOS Sierra 10.12.3 with my access point using the Huawei Mobile Partner site. It has done this before and I have been able to successfully connect at various points in the past but now when I try to connect I get the message "Loading Huawei Mobile Partner home page" for around 5 minutes before it just times out. I have been able to make a connection using my Wifi access point at my house but I have to do this to prevent my office from locking up whenever I connect my modem to my laptop via USB cable. Please help!
