If you are releasing the client source only; then you can reverse engineer the client. You can always put the server code in a separate file and translate it if you have access to a server that can run the modified client. However that is expensive, and to be frank; not very effective when the main target audience are the 'early adopters' of your system. What you want to do is make sure that you have a way of detecting modifications to your server code from the client, and that you have a way of redifining your server code to reflect those changes. If you have the ability to do this, then it's a case of policing the source for pre-release changes.
For example, with a login script you can force the user to enter a username and password with no editable fields. A plugin to your site could then be written to detect changes to the script, which may or may not be able to be reversed.
If you can't back up this logic, then at least make sure that you require the user to enter something into the editable fields of your script. That way you can at least remove them if they so please.
That's the best you can hope for, and ultimately you are still going to lose unless you change the script in some way. The best way to do that is to put it in a form that will render it unusable without user input.
You can get a good understanding of these scripts via this thread on CSS-Tricks . This will give you the full story on what you can and cannot do in the web application world. It's a good place to start, however CSS-Tricks does a great job of explaining things in a less technical manner.
These three different methods of using an AdSense script will work. However, some of the functionality isonly available if you use the Google Ads API. For example, web tracking and conversion tracking is not supported by the AdSense scripts. You must use the API to get the needed information.
If you are a vendor with a larger volume of users, then you should probably use the API. It might be worth it to shell out some money for one of the offerings that maintain the Google Ads scripts. They might charge you more than you are willing to spend, but you have fewer headaches.
Another option is to upload the script to Google Takeout and create a restricted account. Then paste the URL into the AdSense script editor. Go to https://developers.google.com/adsense/scripts and log in. If you have a premium account, go to Settings and add script as a service .
Lastly, if you have an existing Google Ads script that isn't being updated to the new API, you can merge it, or create a script that exists side-by-side. The former is easier and more efficient, but the latter is also available and will work. Either way, don't worry, we will soon be releasing a script that will allow you to easily upgrade to the new API. 827ec27edc
