From what I am reading there is no accounts copy in QB MAC ? So when the account needs to audit / make changes in my QB I can only export a backup copy ?? Which means I an unable to use QB's until I restore my backup

Creating an Accountant's Copy is the way to go if you need your accountant to review your books and continue working on your company file at the same time. And with the Accountant's Copy file transfer feature, the file is saved in Intuit server, where you can start secured data exchange with your accountant.

To give some clarification, using the Accountant's Copy feature is only available in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Since you're using the Mac version, you can create a file (.qbb file extension) and send it to your accountant (that is using a Windows version). This process is called Round-tripping.

Different than in QB for PC where we can send an Accountant's Copy and keep working until the change file comes back, you can in fact, in QB2019 for Mac create a PC compatible QBB file to send to your accountant using any version of 2019 for PC. Can you please share the link to the instructions you reference in this post? I am in QB Desktop for Mac 2019, need to share the file with our accountant. He does not know how to access the file. I can keep googling for the step by step by I saw your comment and think you may have it handy?

Customer support has gone completely down. Upgraded to the 2021 version and it broke a lot of features including the ability to send emails through outlook. Had to wait months for a fix and had to send out invoices manually. Come tax time they now want me to upgrade to 2022 for the accountant to get a copy to work on my file. Software maybe a good price but don't expect any support without spending more money. Basically a trap to force you to pay.
